Buick LeSabre Limited '99
I have a 1999 LeSabre Limited with just about 58K miles. I hit about 110 on the I95, no problem, no shaking no raddling or any unusual shaking. Now I'm not really looking to go OVER 110 my I do want a bit better acceleration. Because getting past 60 does take a bit.

I hear of superchargers, turbo and other sorts of ideas. But what will truly help out my accer. Something to give a nice show when I'm leaving that red light, and leaving them honda racers in the dust. 😉

If you want to pay as much money to make this car go fast as it would cost to buy an already fast car then go ahead. but yeah, a supercharger Is one of the more used options with this motor if you're looking to use forced intake to boost power but it costs a couple grand after everything is said and done.

also, if you want to go faster, you need to be able to get that power to the road and bring the car to a quick stop if needed. I suggest making sure the trans is in great shape and you have the brakes up to service. also fwiw, just adding the supercharger and the ecu to run it only gets you about 40 more hp. but i've seen these engines push 380 hp too so it's all in how well you build it.

You would be better off getting a big propeller and converting the LeSabre into a helicopter.

There's lots you can do before going to forcced induction to increase acceleration.

Keep in mind that going with forced induction you can't just swap for an LS1 and say here we go, you need to make sure that your brake lines aren't about to quit from known rust issues and make sure you have the breaking capability for those speeds in such a heavy car.

In MY opinion you buy a Buick for comfort and luxury not HP. I would rather invest that money into the luxury component... that being said some minor things you can do to increase performance start at the very basics.

Replace your spark plugs and Coil Packs with high end products.
Replace your exhaust system with performance options.
Are you using Synthetic?
You got weight you can shed off the car?
All the basic low level changes you can make will make a difference.

If you want performance take the 3-5k you would spend swapping out the Series II for a LS1 and just buy yourself a cheap used Civic w/ Vtech or the Scion etc. You can't make Apples from Oranges, and even so what's the point. You have to remember why you bought a Buick in the first place.
