So I've been spoiled by the quality of the leather on the steering wheel in my previous vehicle (2013 dodge dart.) This Nappa Leather (not sure what that means) is so soft and smooth that the steering wheel never got the least bit sticky even on the hottest of days and was always cool to the touch (compared to other surfaces on the interior).

Before trading this vehicle in I shopped around and test drive a large number of vehicles that all had leather wrapped steering wheels and the Buick was the closest I could find to this, however the oils from my hands caused it to get a little bit sticky after 15-20 minutes of driving. Other cars would be immediately sticky and nasty that it was an immediate turn off but the Dart would stay smooth and cool even after an hour of driving.

Edit: The images below may not show what I am looking at: post-uploading I realized they were scaled down a bit in quality.
Here's an image of the Dart's leather wrapped steering wheel that I'm referring to. Zoom in to 1-to-1 scale and notice particularly that there are no grains, or wrinkles or cracks. Look how smooth of a surface it is:

Here's an image of my 2015 Buick Verano's leather wrapped steering wheel. Zoom in to 1-to-1 scale and notice particularly the texture of the leather has grains in it that almost match the grains on the horn.

Since this Verano was used I do expect it has not been properly cleaned and so I plan to clean it up a bit, but before I do:
Is this simply a matter of cleaning it up with a pH neutral cleaner like Lexol or is this simply a different type of leather than what was in the Dart and I shouldn't expect to get that soft smooth and cool result from the Buick without an aftermarket wheel cover?
