I have spent some time scouring forms to help with the answer, but I'm not finding anything, so I apologize if this is a duplicate thread.

What is the recommended plug and gap for a stock 95 LeSabre Limited? I have been told numerous times that any non-AC Delco plug will foul w/in a year, regardless of composition.

One individual recommended AC Delco Rapidfire platinum with a gap of .045? But .060 is OEM spec?

What's the truth here? Any gotcha's I should be aware of?

Thanks all!

What you have been told is total BS. Normally, Bosch Platinum plugs are not recommended; otherwise, the following should work as good as OEM when gaped @ .060.

Copper:
ACDELCO Part # 41-601 OEM
NGK Part # 3951 {#TR55} V-Power

Iridium:
AUTOLITE Part # XP606
CHAMPION Part # 9404
NGK Part # 7164

Excellent. Thank you for the feedback.

What's the reason for excluding platinum? And why should I care about Iridium over copper?

I understand what I've read from the mfg, but what's the truth in performance with these vehicles?

Thanks again,

I purposely excluded platinum, due to my personal preference for either copper, or Iridium. Copper plugs are much cheaper, but will not last as long as Iridium. There is no difference in performance, as long as the copper is changed more often. I use Autolite copper, mostly because they are cheap, and supply the heat range I prefer to keep knock retard down with 12.5-psi boost. You should use the standard heat range with a N/A engine. Once again, Bosch platinum plugs have been known to have problems, when used with DIS ignition systems.
