Buick Ownership
2015 Buick LaCrosse
Hello everyone! Hoping to see if I can get some help regarding my 2015 Buick LaCrosse. It has the 3.6 with AWD. So recently I’ve been getting a squealing sounds starting from low speeds in the rear. Ended up finding that noise coming from the right rear. So seeing I have warrante on the vehicle & to get a better judgement, I had a couple dealers take a look at it for me. Several were saying that it’s the cause of an axle seal going bad. Going for my judgement I didn’t believe such & thought “The sounds almost similar to a wheel bearing, let’s start with that!” So I went ahead & replaced the wheel bearing myself (probably one of the easiest wheel bearings I’ve done) & the end result is, STILL SQUEALING! Lol.
So my question would be has anybody here ran in to this similar issue? & should I go ahead & replace the seal?

Disc brakes can do that sometimes, especially if a small pebble get lodged between rotor and pad. Also universal needle bearings can go and may just emulate noise in wheel hub- My experience anyways😖

You stated you have a warranty so why isnt the dealer fixing the problem?

2015 awd lacrosse ===== mine too, its driving me freakin crazy. I've had it at a buick dealer 2 times with no help. if I didn't owe on this car it would be way gone. I've change rotors, pads, and 3 wheel bearings and still screeching like _ell

Wait, AWD you would have a rear driveshaft with universal joints. Those needle bearings, doesn’t take a lot for them to go bad and squeal for starters; could be problem, pretty easy to change is good news; at least the ones I’ve done.

You shouldn’t have any sideways play with those; just a bit Front to back of driveshaft itself. Bad news is may eventually drop driveshaft......
