Steering wheel radio controls

So I have a 1999 Buick Century Limited and it has the Concert Sound III system in it with the steering wheel radio controls (volume, seek, source, etc.). I want to put this aftermarket Sony head unit in it to replace the stock radio but I want to know if the steering wheel controls would still work with the aftermarket head unit. Aren't there just wires from the steering wheel to the back of the radio which would just transfer over to the new wiring harness or do the controls work wirelessly somehow? Also, I have the wire harness from my 1995 Chevy Monte Carlo LS, would that be compatible with the Buick's wire harness or are they slightly different?
