Well I have a 99 Buick Century, with the Concert sound 2. I thought it was a just a 6x9 in the rear deck so I bought some new ones seeing as the old were blown. When I finally got everything off I saw a 6x9 and what looks like a 2 inch tweeter. Does anyone know how to wire it so the 6x9 does highs, mids and lows. I bought 3way because I assumed it was just a 6x9 in the deck, when I hooked up the new ones they just produced lows.

I'm a little confused. I have Concert Sound 2 in my 2002. Are you saying your original tweeter is separate like they do on front door speakers?
I replaced my rears years ago with 3 ways. I also put in a pioneer radio and the tweets built in the 3 ways work fine.

Yea, its one assembled mount. There is a 6x9 and to the left is a what I believe to be 4 inch speakers possibly 3.5. I expected there to be one 3 way 6x9 and apparently there is one 6x9 that is one maybe two way and the other speaker handles the highs. When I wired up the 6x9 all I got coming form it was mids, I planned on just swapping the 6x9s out but now I will probably have to swap both out.

I can't quite picture how they placed the speakers. But I can tell you if you only have 2 runs *(2 2-way wires) running from the front to the trunk, than the wires are carrying the full Hz range. Attaching the 2 wires to a 3-way speaker should put out the full high-med-lows. I would just go ahead and install the 3-way speakers and not hook up the separate tweeter(s) they have installed. Attaching the tweeter(s) they have separated will draw more power and reduce the output of sound.

I am aware that many times they separate tweeters. Many aftermarket speakers do have this setup and they use a little box between main speaker and tweeter to separate the Hz. They say the sound is better by having it in another location. But you should be fine and have full range using a regular 3-way and not hooking up the other tweeter.

Yea the thing is the system has the stock amplifier, after much tinkering the split wires have one set for lows and one set for highs. Thanks for the input.
