I'm thinking about buying a Premium FWD with the Dynamic Drive Package (20" wheels and hiper strut suspension with continuous variable damping) and swapping the original wheels with 18" wheels. I'm looking for a softer and more comfortable and more quiet ride, but also wanted to have the most technologically advanced suspension. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? I guess this hybrid ride would not be as soft as without the Dynamic Drive Package, but would it be worth it to have the more advanced suspension in the front?

Hiper strut suspension would help alleviate torque steer when accelerating hard, but unsure how necessary it is overall. I also don't know how the car will react to being on different feet, seeing that the damping is calibrated from the factory with the 20" wheels.

I was unhappy with the ride quality of my 2017 Buick LaCrosse Premium with the HiPer Strut front suspension and the OEM 20" wheels and OEM Bridgestone tires. I purchased a wheel and tire package from Tire Rack which consisted of 18" Sport Tuning T23 wheels and Vredestein Quatrac 5 235/50R18 tires for about $1550. The ride quality has improved tremendously. The new TPS sensors were easy to program with a $50 scan tools. The programing directions were in the owner's manual. For owners like me that prefer ride quality over handling, this choice is a viable option.
