01 park ave ultra at what temp does ecm closed loop ...new a c delco tcs installed....and at what temp does coolings fans signal ....also new a c delco thermostat ...thank you

What is the problem, is it overheating? If the A/C is on, one low speed fan should run all the time. Without the A/C on, neither fan will run until about 220° engine temp. MY PAU goes into closed loop @ less than 115°.

I sa as much 217 in fry trafic..when rooling 200+-5 and its hot out in ca.got car used 80.000 had not temp prob top and hoses.. but the 3800 runs that hot

I see no problem with that temp. Have you tried turning the A/C on (if it works) to see what happens?

Sounds like a plan! Don't forget to check/clean the A/C condenser in front of the radiator. Stop leak can clog the whole system, so multiple coolant flushes may be necessary and with the addition of coolant system cleaners. The previous owner may have tried to stop leaks somewhere, but the results of that may have caused the whole system to fail. With the A/C on, what are the coolant temps?

At HotZ said, those temps are normal and nothing to worry about. These engines do run hot and while you can get them to run cooler you will do so at the expense of mpg & overal efficiency. Mine runs at about 195-200 on the highway and 215 stopped in traffic, perfectly normal.

While the higher temps are fine for the engine, it is a good reason to add an external trans cooler. You ideally want to keep the trans operating at well under 200 if possible (180 degrees in ideal).

In FL the hottest mine has reached is 200. That is sitting in traffic with AC on.
