2022 Buick Encore GX
Hello, my first post here as I cannot find any threads on the temperature gauge. I have a 2022 encore GX with the 1.3 at nine speed trans. It takes forever for the engine to get to the fourth bar (operating temperature) which even during the warm months is up to temperature at the fourth bar. This will take a long time to get to the fourth bar in the winter time, but will do it intermittently. Not until 15 to 20 miles into my drive on a really cold day , will it stay solid at four bars. Although on extremely cold days, it will bounced back down to three bars and remain there for the most part. Any idea what the temperature is at the end of the third bar or beginning of the fourth bar? also curious what is the correct operating temperature for the 1.3. Thanks for your help. I appreciate it.

Being a 2022 it should be under warranty. Any reason you don't take it in?

I did take it in,and they pressure checked the system stating there’s no leaks and that they can’t find anything wrong. I called them Last Friday when the temperatures were single and negative numbers and the service writer said that they can look at it again. After talking to a colleague here at work that has the same year with the same drivetrain he experiences the same thing. Not so sure at this point if I wanna take it back until I do some research, which brings me here. I was just curious if there were other people that experienced the same issue and perhaps it’s common and not a concern. Although I am still concerned as I generally keep my vehicles to 100 to 120,000 miles. I was hoping if somebody did some research as well we could share here. As soon as I do come to a conclusion, I will share that here as well.
