Hi!
Is it safe (for EGR valve coil) to supply 12V/battery voltage to EGR valve coil? (need to check if it moves the pintle).
What is the acceptable range for the resistance of EGR valve coil? (not listed in GM book)
Anything else you'd test electrically or otherwise (w/o Tech2 scanner)?
I have EGR valve OFF the car now.
Troubleshooting P1406 and rough idle (usually when engine is hot).
I have electrical diagram in the GM book, but one of the coil contacts comes from PCM, so there's no way to determine its voltage.
GM book electrical procedure required Tech2 on most steps.
My EGR valve looks very similar to this one.
What's the star-like socket at the bottom of the pintle for?
Is it possible to disassemble/assemble EGR valve w/o damaging?
I'm cleaning it of course.
Have only basic ELM scanner.
Thank you.
