TourX headlight assembly replacement

So I inadvertently went deer hunting with my 2019 TourX this morning. The deer got up and ran off. The only damage to my car is the lens on the right front headlight is shattered. The OEM part is over $1400 just for the assembly. I can find aftermarket parts for around 250. My question is since the headlights are steerable is the control module part of the headlight assembly or a separate assembly and does anything need to be reprogrammed if I replace the headlight assembly.

You shouldn’t need to reprogram a new headlight assembly if you swap out your old control box for the new one. That said, $250 sounds like it’s not an LED unit. Those usually require a core swap. I’d verify that you’re swapping identical units before I’d order one.

Its an aftermarket part that says it is LED. Checked my insurance and since I have 100 deductible I'm probably going to let the body shop do it rather than spending the afternoon taking half the bumper off of the car. Of course the insurance rate may go up next year to so...

Stateside sellers on eBay sell new aftermarket units for less than $120 with halogen bulbs, shipping included and free returns. With LED bulbs the price is about $170. Has anyone done a swap? Wondering how complex it is. My 2019 has odd wear to the upper part of the lense.

It's not difficult at all. You will need to remove the bumper and headlight support to get access to it.
