Towing capacity

I'm considering purchasing a TourX for my next car. I've read that its rated to tow 1000lbs but their European versions are rated to 2500lbs. Has anyone installed a tow hitch to tow a small boat?

As I said before it has 0 towing capacity per owners manual. Until they send me a correction to it, they could get off being sued or war. repairs. I would love to see you in court with your owners manual... Our German built car is rated to tow 4,850 pounds. Whether you want to worry about...

The 2019 sales brochure states a towing capacity of 1000lbs. I guess the 2018 model year is not rated to tow.

The current Terrain with 2.0T, AWD, and 9 speed auto is rated to tow 3,500 lbs - the biggest differences being that it actually offers a factory towing package (one that includes a trans cooler) and the 9 speed auto over our 8 speed.

I wish there had been a tow package for the TourX - I would have ordered it even with no intention of towing because I like the improvements that come in a typical tow package. (trans cooler, sometimes alternator upgrades, heck my old Highlander had an oil cooler too!)
