TPM reset on 2016 Regal

On my 2011 Regal I was able to relearn the TPM system by putting it into learning mode and releasing air from each tire, starting with the drivers front, and it would beep twice when all 4 were done. I just tried to do the same on my 2016 Regal and I can let all the air out without a beep. Does this car need a learning toll to reset them? It says it's in learning mode but I can't get any response by releasing air.

page 267 of your owners manual states a relearn tool is required. You can buy them online.

I ended up ordering a reset tool from Amazon. It cost me under $25. to the door and it worked perfectly. I should have had one of these years ago but I figured they would be really expensive.
