Greetings:
I own 2 Centurys..a 2003 and a 1999. I have had both about 4 years and am overall very happy with them. I enjoy doing my own repairs as much as possible. On the 1999, about a year ago, I replaced the original multi function switch with the classic high beam low beam switch problem. I replaced it with a cheap aftermarket part. Now the turnsignals are out completely. This happened when the kid pulled over on the highway and turned on the hazard/emergency flashers. No click, no directional light on the dash, nothing. Immediately, I thought flasher, found and replaced it. Still nothing. Checked the turnsignal fuse. It is fine.
I have concluded that it must be the multifunction switch.

Thoughts?? Have I missed something?
(Don't see any similar posts listing this complete failure)

Many thanks!

John

Well, for the record, I continued my troubleshooting rechecking fuses and bulbs and still found no problem. I then remembered that I had the original Delco multifunction switch and that one had only issues with high beam, low beam (which meant NO beam). So, without removing the switch from the steering column) that was causing the current problem, I plugged in the old switch and turnsignals began operating thus verifying my original conclusion.

The aftermarket part lasted about 14 months. Anyway, I thought I would post results for anyone having similar problems with their Century multifunction switch. I have become pretty good with putting those babies in. Remember use a 7 mm socket when disconnecting the harness from the firewall. It is tough to see the bolt within the harness and you can think you are turning it with another size socket and not be.

i would go to the junk yard for one but given the characteristic problems, I guess I'll go with another aftermarket part.
