Does anyone know where the Vapor Canister Vent Solenoid is located on a 2018 Regal GS 3.6L?

The check engine light was on, but the car was running fine. I filled up on gas and the car wouldn't start for about 5 minutes or so and then started hard. After looking online I figured it was probably the Vapor Canister Purge Valve causing the issue since they are known to go bad around 70k miles and I am at 63k.

I already changed the Vapor Canister Purge Valve which is on the top back side of the engine near the windshield, but that did not resolve the check engine light. The next thing I wanted to try was the vent solenoid, but I can't find anywhere online that shows the location of it. Is it under the car near the gas tank?

The part I bought to replace it is: AC Delco GM Original Equipment 84524035 Vapor Canister Vent Valve Solenoid

Any information is helpful.

Thanks in advance.

Yeah, #4 in that image. Do you know where #1 is located?

Yeah, it seems simple enough, except I cannot locate where the canister is. Some cars say it's under the car near the gas tank but I don't see it, others say in the engine compartment but again I do not see it.

I was hoping someone may have replaced it or seen it on these cars. I can't seem to find any posts ir videos for this specific vehicle.

Thanks for your help though

If you downloand the service manual file (I think it's floating around here somewhere) looks like it's under the rear fender liner.

Awesome. That's a big help! Thanks so much.

Going to try and find that manual on here wherever it is now too

Thanks again!

I think this was the post. The manual file isn't really user friendly with an index or TOC, but you can search it.

Will do. I will hopefully have time to work on it tomorrow.

I will provide updates

Let us know how it works out.
That is exactly where the vapor canister is located. I took the wheel off, removed about 7 T15 screws, 2 11mm caps and a cap that is hand screwed on and you can remove the inner wheel liner.

After that you need to remove the canister from the vehicle in order to replace the solenoid as it is on the backside of the canister. It has a push pin holding it in place that you need to pull out and remove then slide the canister up out of the bracket it is held in place by. Then unclip the electrical connection, and quarter turn then solenoid until you hear a click and pull it out. Replace it with the new solenoid and do the steps in reverse and you are good to go.

I have some pictures below of it in the vehicle.

Thanks again for all the help, pictures and manual!!

Thanks for posting on this, and following-up. Hopefully I never need to know about this, but it's here if I ever need to refer to it.
