whats up guys, kinda new, since i'm buying my Buick, i decided to try this stuff out!

i have a question, the 2000 Buick Century Customs plastic hubcaps look kind of bland for my taste, and i liked the way the aluminum wheels looked on some of the Regals of a similar year, they don't look super flashy, just look nice, i was just wondering if putting the wheels and tires from a regal on a century would cause any issues such as lug patter or vehicle speed, tire too fender clearance, etc..., i want to enhance her look, but i really don't want to ruin her...

i love the old girl, my grandpa is giving me her really cheep beacuse i have done a lot of maintenance and repairs for him on her, she is also sort of a attachment, lots of good old road trips with grandpa out of state! good car!🙂

Regal's and Century's are essentially the same car. It's still a W-Body so most likely not. The stock 2000 regal ls is the same stock rim size (15"), but the gs and the ls w/ the performance package are 16" stock.

Should be a direct swap without any affects on the speedo/odo. The aluminum Century wheels are nice too:

are those high intensity discharge headlights on yours?

well... if i can find a century in the scrap yard with those wheels on them, i'm taking them and checking there balance, yea i have seen them before! much better looking than the plastic rims on my baby

but i did some touching up on them to make them look a little different.

Yeah, those were the 6000k HIDs I had for a while until my ballast died on me.

I agree, the plastic hubcaps look really cheap and make these cars look bad. I like how yours are a little different than the usual. I think it would look a little nicer if it was the same color as your car instead of black.

I've been thinking about getting black steel wheels and getting chrome center caps and bands. My rims are stained and corroded and don't look great up close.

those are actually dupli colored the same color as the rest of the car, it looks black from that angle beacuse of the lack of light 🙂

i want to get some HID lights for my buick.

I didn't realize they were the same color. That's even cooler now haha.

I got my HIDs on ebay for about $50 last winter. I'm thinking about retrofitting a set of projectors eventually. They should make the lights look even better. I'm just waiting for a car with HID projectors to show up in the JY 😛

Those hubcaps do look cheap on these cars, that have no white wall tires, but once I got my new tires on mine, I made sure the white walls were to be put out, and it changed the look completely! I love it!

Even better are the older steel hubcaps from the century and Skylark's. I'm not a fan of mags... I love my steel rims and hubcaps 😀

i don't really like hubcaps IMO, i think they look cheep, but if that's what you like, that's cool with me 😀 especially if you like white wall tires, that would be a exception, because it would give the car a classic look.

my goal is to give the car better performance gas milage and a more sporty appearance, aluminum wheels should be lighter than the steel ones... that will decrease the un sprung weight of the vehicle, decrease the rolling resistance, i also want to get rid of those cheep o tires with the soft sidewalls and chunky tread, that will be better as well. i don't want DEM RIMZ DAWG🙄, those on a century make me sick too my stomach, i just want some nice looking, brushed aluminum wheels with some nice tires. 🙂

The little bit of difference the steel rims have vs. the aluminum ones in terms of weight is so little you won't see anything from it in the performance section or mpg at all.

You want better fuel economy by reducing rolling resistance? Get skinnier tires, and if possible, taller. But the stock 205/70R15 these cars have, are already close to that plastic lip inside the front fender when you turn that any taller tire will hit that, unless you cut it out.

Then you can run like 205/75R15.

Regal wheels aren't too bad looking.

LaCrosse wheels are nice too. I think the bolt pattern and offset are the same.

ill go with the regal wheels, they are not so bling bling, just enough to give the car a different look and not so plastic ish... i think they are wider as well, which will give the car a sportier look.

Hi,
I'm new to the forum and if I'm breaking a rule I appologies, but if you're still looking to upgrade your wheels I have a set of 4 OEM (16-spoke machine alloy) wheels off a 2002 Buick Century Custom that I'm looking to sell (15x6, 5-lug 115 mm bolt pattern). There in pretty good shape since I would take them off in the winter for a set of snow tires I had on steel wheels.
Contact me if your interested.

skinnier tires will decrease my rolling resistance, however will increase my over all traction, and will make it look weird, i don't necessarily want taller tires, i am trying to give my car a sportier look, and doing so is not really possible with skinny tires, i would like wider tires, i am thinking about getting a set of P225/60R16s which they put in the Regal GS. they should fit.

reducing rolling resistance is not impossible with a nicer set of tires and there is a difference between weight in a nice set of aluminum wheels and steel wheels, i remember one time i questioned that myself, then a customer wanted too replace his steel wheels with aluminum ones, after taking the steel ones off the tire machine, i went to get the aluminum ones and about threw them in the air! 😀 LOL, right now im rolling on the regular steel wheels with a set of cheep tires with soft flimsy sidewalls and chunky tread, i would like too change too aluminom with tires that aren't so rough.

i think you can get a set of 17 inch wheels with a set of 225/55ZR17s or 225/50ZR17s on this body style, saw it on a Oldsmobile alero once, no too sure about the look though... maybe with the right wheels, kinda low profile for this car and my taste.
