Where 04's engines produced?

I drive an 04 Lesabre with the standard 3800 V6 Series II. Was just curious as to where the engine would have been made. I know the cars final assembly and the transmission were both around Michigan.

Welcome JMV.

3800 engines were produced in GM Plant #36 in Flint, MI until the plant closed in 2008.

The 2004 seems to be a transition year with 3800 Series II and Series III engines.

I assume that Series II were installed in early 2004 cars while later 2004 cars had Series III. I don't have any other info.

Some VIN decoders will indicate where the motor was made. My car was assembled in Oshawa ON but the motor in Flint MI.
