I have noticed my vehicle's voice command is not working.
Tried to press the button on the steering wheel and use it to get to POI, the system just tells me that is not available at the moment.
Does our vehicle require a paid subscription for that feature to work? 🤔

I have active subscriptions for hot spot and whatever the plan is for live traffic but I noticed same thing after putting updated map card in so I think it could be a side effect of updated SD card maps. If you still have the original SD card or earlier one where voice command worked you could swap it out and see if it changes the situation.

GM just made it easier to give up on them and use AA/CP with this! 🤣

It is supposed to work, even without Onstar subscription. Besides occasional navigation, I ask it to tune to a particular FM radio frequency. But for most navigation, phone-based navigation is the way to go.

F it...
I am giving up on trying to get this to work.
Not gonna swap back to a map that is from 2018/2019 just to get this to work either.
Using this new map SD card, voice command to POI is essentially POS.
The only way it works is if I type in the POI in the search while the vehicle is at a dead stop.

Silly me, why did I even have to bother to pay GM the dang map SD card anymore?
Got the wireless AA/CP adapter now! 🤣
Our vehicle's infotainment is an Android anyway.

I may have to snag one of those wireless adapters. My wife got a new car, and I'm jealous that she can just get in and Car Play is automatically and always available; no fiddling with a USB cable.

I must say the connection speed is slightly slower than those with native wireless AA/CP from my experience.
It connect within the first minute when I turned on the vehicle.
The difference is noticeable but is very minor.
