Purchased the Opel Grille and rear badge from a guy in Chicago who travels to Poland to get the parts. He has a real nice Regal he has converted with the wheels, correct badges and everything. It looks nice. Actually found him on ebay. If anyone else here is looking for conversion parts, take a look at the following site. This is owned by a guy named Paul. I bought the wheel centercaps from him and hes a good guy.

So this guy is from Chicago area? I have seen the website, and tried to email quite some time ago, never heard anything back and then the website was "under construction" so I was a little skittish about buying from him. Thinking seriously of doing the same thing. Is the rear badge just a badge change or do you have to buy the whole bright trim "wing" across the trunklid along with the badge as 1 piece? Now if I could only find the horn cover emblem without having to buy a whole airbag....but I don't think that is possible. Oh and BTW, if you have a MY2011, you have an OPEL INSIGNIA that was rebadged as a Buick, which you now have rebadged correctly as the Opel that it is!!!:headbang:
 
No you don't. You have a Buick made in a Opel producing factory in Germany. You can badge it anyway you want, but it's not an Euro-spec Opel.

Looks good. I never understand why people blur the license plates out in pictures. I always leave my plates unobstructed in my pictures.

The website is not affiliated with the guy i bought the emblem and grille from. totally separate. The website is owned by Paul. I believe he is in Canada. I placed an order some time ago and he emailed me back stating that he was having issues with his distributor. At this time, that issue has been fixed so i replaced the order. Parts came within a week. You might want to give it another chance.

As far as the car being an Opel or Buick....who cares. For the most part, we all own a car we enjoy whether or not it has a buick badge or Opel badge.
 
Don't be swayed by stereodude's ignorance. If your car was built in Russelheim it is identical to a Euro-spec Insignia. They did and still do use different parts on these made in NA and the EU.

For example, the turn signal indicators on 2011 Regals made in Russelheim on the front quarter panels. These are EU mandated. Notice how they are gone on 2012s built in NA? That's because they cost about 5 dollars each and they are not mandated in NA so they do not put them on anymore. There are many more differences if you get into all of the parts. Do you know how many parts are in your car and who made them?

The ones made in Russelheim were made right with the Insignias, they just received different badges. It is not like they set up a different assembly line for the Buicks genius.

Pretty much the only thing you are correct about stereodude is the fact that they were made in a Opel producing factory. That is why they are marked as "Made by Opel", if you got a Russelheim one and not "Made by Buick". It is not like laloggia is trying to convince someone that his Maserati is a Ferrari because it has a Ferrari built engine. His car is a Opel, made by Opel, and marketed as a Buick in NA. This happens with many models of cars across the globe and has since at least the 1970's. VW was a pioneer in this because nobody would buy VW in the US early on so VW badged their vehicles as Porsches sometimes when they marketed them to NA. Notice how you don't see very many Opels in NA? That is why this car is sold as a Buick here. And if you want to get into the real history of this car, it was originally intended to be sold as a Saturn in NA until Saturn was discontinued.

Your comments show that you have very little knowledge of this vehicles short history and that you are just trying to stir up individuals.

and @ DeutschBuick, You might be able to use a centercap from a wheel to replace the horn cover. This usually works in most vehicles. Without taking a look at my vehicle first I can't be for certain though.

The car has to meet US emission and crash standards. You did not get a Euro-spec car. It may be closer to the Euro-spec Opel than the Oshwa built Regal, but it's not a Euro-spec car.

I also heard they put more soundproofing in the NA Buick version! Not sure exactly what that means, but in many write ups they talk about the Buick engineers working to hit certain "quietness" benchmarks! I did notice the front windshields are laminated glass... The Front side windows are not however (they are on Buick Verano... makes me wonder if that is actually quieter than the Regal).

Anyway, the Opel badging looks cool and makes it distinctive on the US roadways... Having said that, I'm very proud to be driving a Buick! 😉 And actually think the Buick symbol is pretty cool and iconic... Now if I could just figure out how to embed a pic here...

@2011regalowner-thanks, I have thought of that. Its going to come down to cost. I don't wan't to get too crazy with this but I don't want it to look hacked either. So it may not happen. Like others here, I have partially "debadged" the trunk because there was too much going on there. Didn't have a CXL badge on mine but I did take off the Flexfuel one, its kinda ugly anyway. The Buick and Regal T are there to stay, unless it gets re-Opel-ized
