Have a 2006 Lucerne and all functions of the Key Fob recently stopped working. Have gone through the reset procedure and replaced the batteries in both remotes but no luck. Any suggestions?

I'm having the same problem with my 2006 Lucerne. I tried to reset by pulling and replacing the fuse, but when I try to relearn remote keys, instead of giving me an activate label, it just blinks once and goes back to the same screen. Maybe I'm pulling the wrong fuse (display).

I've seen a few different "reset" procedures. Does yours involve pressing and holding both lock and unlock buttons at the same time?

I had the same problem. Both my remotes stopped working at the same time, so I was rather sure the problem was the receiver and not the remotes. On another forum a posting said that he found a loose wire in the trunk between the two speakers. I looked there and saw a device with a wire connection. It was not loose, but when I unplugged the wire and replugged it, my remotes immediately worked again.

We just got a 2008 Lucerne, and the first time I shoved something into the back of the trunk it snagged a harness that was hanging low. I tucked it up, but am now resolved to go back under there with a handful of long zip ties and take care of all the harnesses and wires that may be unsecured.

Did you resolve your problems? Can you share with us the fix, please.

Several years after your post I had the same issue today with 2 fobs not working. Unplugged and plugged connection in trunk, fobs are now working. Thank you!

Same exact problem here with my '06 Lucerne...Same fix worked great!!! Thanks SO much! I'm sure this saved a bundle for the dealer to do the same 5 minute repair.

Had the same problem the day we packed my 2009 Lucerne to leave for the weekend. FYI...the loose wire is at the front (nearest the backseat) of the trunk. Once I knew what to look for it took < a minute to fix.

Thank you so much! I love google AND forums!!

i joined this forum just to thank you for addressing my "remote not working" problem on my '06 lucerne. the elec box between the rear speakers has two connectors. i unplugged/plugged the smaller one, and pushed in/out the larger. all is ok now, many thx. local dealer would prob charge $100 minimum shop fee for that.

Where is the fuse located for the alarm?

Here's the diagram and fuse location, but no listing for alarm. Also that post is from 2011 and the poster has not been back.

On some vehicles a soft reset is done by removing both positive and negative battery cables then touching the ends together more details on line on this method.

Not sure if any of this will correct your problem if it's the ignition switch itself but worth trying I guess.

I also heard it can be the ignition switch. I'll have to look into getting one. They are pricey though. Thank you for the input.

While the ignition recall may have been on some GM vehicles it may be worth confirming if your VIN number was done or needed and can be checked online.
