I was checking my car before taking it for an annual inspection, and the center/high-mount brake light wasn't working. The bulb is OK, but the side contact of the socket itself is burnt up to the point that there's not much metal left. I filed and bent it so that it works, but I'm not confident that it will hold up.

This is a black plastic socket with two contacts that come off at 90 degrees, and it uses an 1156 bulb.

Part numbers are:

21WP25-1 and 5972533 4

Looks like it has the word "GUIDE" on it.

Anyone know where I could find an exact replacement? I keep getting hoaxed to all these auto parts sites that don't actually have the part. Seems they just want clicks/web traffic.

You might be better off just trying your local salvage yard for the part - you can also visit www.car-part.com - it's a website for salvage yards but you can search based on your zipcode.

Actually, it turned out, to my surprise, that my local Buick dealer had the part in-stock.
