Windshield wiper arms!

Can someone tell me how to get the windshield wiper arms off a 1996 Buick Park avenue Ultra? Thanks

There should be a protective cap on the wiper arm base that you pry off with a screwdriver. Under that is a nut that you will need to loosen - then you'll have to work the arm off of the splines. Be careful not to bend the arm.

Hint - before you start your removal - turn your wipers on and then turn the car off right when the wipers are mid-windshield. Take some painters tape and mark the position of both wipers - don't turn the car back on until you've got them reinstalled.

This will allow you to easily realign the wiper arms and work on them without them being in the down position.

This can sometimes be very difficult. There are a variety of "wiper puller" tools available; just search Amazon. This one worked for me on a 2000 PA:

[need help]

Hi Spriteman, there is a lip on the end of wiper arm. I can't seem to get it to budge. I'm not sure if the lip turns to the side or if it comes off with the cover. Either way, I can't get it to move. Have you seen this on the side of the end? Thanks again, Jann

I'm not exactly sure what the lip does - I don't suppose you could take a pic of it and post it here?

I tried looking it up online and I found the part but not any good pics.
