2016 Regal GS
Just wondering if anyone has had one done yet. Thanks, Jason

Thanks for the reply. Reason I was asking was I was told/heard that the 2016 Regal has a different operating system than all the previous ones so was not sure if anyone has done a 2016 yet.

Who told you that/where did you read it?

"Hi Jason,
We spoke with EFILive and the new 2016 Regal has a different operating system so once you receive the autocal and send us your stock read we will send that over to EFILive, they told us depending on how much different it is they could have it unlocked anywhere between 1-2 days or up to a couple weeks. There is no issue with tuning it, they just need to first unlock that new operating system and then were good to go, just wanted to inform you of the potential wait."

Well, there ya go. 😉

If Jerry says up to a couple weeks, it won't take longer than that and could only take a few days.

The 2016+ 2.0T vehicles mostly use the new E80 ECM, but the Regal for some reason retains the E39A. The OS on the car in question has not been mapped out so we need to write up a definition for it so we can tune it. It is fully supported, and any and all tuning companies would need to do the same thing. If other companies already had access to a 2016, they may have already written a definition for it, but I don't think anyone has had access to one. We just need a read from your vehicle and within a few days we will deliver the tune. Don't worry, this is all standard procedure for new model years.

Yes! Trifecta tune. More than I hoped for. Trifecta spent some time with this old man walking me through the install. It really is simple but I am really that old. That was back in the beginning of October. Trouble free and worth every nickel in pure driving fun.

I really would like to do this, but have concerns about voiding the warranty (as that is what my dealer told me would happen).

The trifecta tune can't be seen by the dealership of you flash it back before you bring it in for service. I've always left my tune on the vehicle when I brought it in for service unless it was in service for something related to the drive train.

Is there any proof of this? I have been working with Tuners on newer Camaros etc... Ive always been told the dealer can see how many times its been flashed... I looked through Trifecta page listed above and didn't see any claims for this.
Thanks

I was told by a buddy of mine that works at GM that the Trifecta tune is GM approved and does NOT void your warranty. He just got a 2016 Regal T and put this on his lease car.

Umm No.

I finally found the info. on the BNR tune I was looking for. Ordering today, will advise how it goes, sometime next week?

Well so far so good for me been running it about 2 months

Thanks, will advise as well. Order placed. Hope the install is as easy as they claim?

I didn't do a tune yet, but my dealer about had a heart attack when they saw my K&N air filter installed. They said there was a bulletin about oily filters creating driveability issues with my car, and replaced it back to a GM filter. Wasn't happy that they didn't ask me before they did the swap.
