2009 Forum Calendar

How many of you would be interested in a Buick Forum Calendar?

In 2007, the NAISSO Forum did one, and it came out nicely.

This year, Mike (scoob8000) on the Impala SS Forum made one.

I was thinking about it, and thought it might be fun to make our own.

It would be for 2009, as I think it will take a couple of months to do it right.

This would give all of you ample time to get your cars ready, and take some great pics in some nice places 🙂

I'd plan to have them completed in November. This way, you could have them in hand by December.

What do you think?

p.s. I know that Matt and Elias have some great pics. Also, I think Cory has some too. I need to get after JD to see what he has. I'm planning on some road trips to get some new backgrounds for the RoadMonster this coming year...

I'd like to have one that actually had more RMS in it 🙂 Glad at least your car made it in the ISSF one 🙂

I'd need a few months. I'm thinking of planning on tint, that grille that needs to be finished, and maybe the hood with something custom done to it 🙂

I'd like to see more RM's too.

I figured if we planned it now, we could all focus on getting some really good pictures for it.

We could take all summer.

Also, we could look for themed pics for each month.

So....

You know I'm in Stewart 🙂 I forgot all about that I owed you some pics of my ride. The weather got cold and crappy and my rubber moldings began their annual peel off 😱 But I should have the car looking good again once we get through winter. I could probably drive out to some of the Michigan country roads and get some nice pics. Or maybe even some cool shots off Belle Ilse with the Detroit skyline in the background😎

I think I could get some pretty good pics by november. Maybe Matt and i could get togther, and get a Dual Roadmasters lined up at the drag strip, shot. 😀

Or I could get a shot with a squad car(sadly, a crown vic) chasing it. Or Have one of my Caprices peeking in the back ground. The caprice had its rain, the Buick is #1 now!

I really like that pic of your car stewart, but it iritates the shit outta me that they had to chop the edges like that.

Got some good ideas flowing, and thinking of some great turist town pics. 😀

On both of these calendars, time, or lack of, was a big factor in getting them just right.

That's why I thought if we start planning now, we can plan our photos all spring and summer, and wrap it up in October.

Have plenty of time for trouble shooting problems like that.



And JD, I do expect lots of pictures. I have a space reserved on my Cardomain page for you....and it's empty 😉


A few of more thoughts:

1) We'd need someone good at graphics / lettering / logos. We need a really good cover page with good lettering. Also, I was thinking that if and when we get the Forum decals, we could incorporate that onto the cover.

2) When Alan did the NAISSO calendar, he added the persons name, login name, and avatar or other logo that they used. You can just see the flaming Buick logo that I use as my Avatar. I like that. Let me know what you think.

3) For October, to get really scary, we can post our mug-shots, in a Brady Bunch kind of photo layout with squares. I imagine us all looking into the center square, at Matt.

I know I don't know what you guys look like, and I imagine it might be scary 😀


So, I guess we are "on" for the un-Official 2009 Buick Forums Calendar. 😉

I like the idea of a calendar. I also like the idea of lables on the cars (name, screen name, etc) Some of us still have the "stock" avitars, so maybe no avitars for us?

well i am in for sure. i will put in pictures in of probably of the 94 and the 96. Once the weather gets good the blue will likely be switched with the black.

Sounds good to me. I'm definately in. I just need some good pics of my car, and maybe I'll have enough time to get the rust on the right quarter fixed that seemed to double in size this winter😡

Nothing a little photoshop work can't fix 🙂 I also have some rusty rear quarters that I plan to have repaired someday. Probably won't get to it this year though. Hopefully I'll be able to get her totally repainted by next year.

mines got rust in the rear quarters. I put a set of gloves in my trunk, and when I was racing I saw it was hanging out thru the hole. So I just left it. I could see the tech guys pointing at it and laughing. 😀

I made this a sticky, since we are gonna be working on this project for the next 10-11 months 😎

Matt said he knows someone who can help with the cover page.

I know there are other of you guys who are good at photoshop, etc....
So, start thinking how you might use those skills, either for your car, or to help others get their pictures how they want them.

I think it would be fun to have themed months: Halloween, for example would be cool for a car in a grave yard....

Christmas, with a pic with lights, or trees, or snow, etc. You guys with snow; you might want to start think about taking some pics NOW...


My plans this year are to take the RM to the coast, mountains, and other scenic places to get some new photos.

I expect some great new photos from you guys.

I would personally like to see some new pics of Matt racing, nice new shots of all of Cory's cars (that should take him awhile 😉), a spectacular photo with a killer background from JD, Lots more of Robert's wagon, etc. That's just a few, off the top of my head. We have a lot of really nice Buicks here...

So guys, we need at least 12 cars for this. If we get more than 12, we'll work it out.

My RM is in the backyard covered with about 5 inches of snow right now, but it probably wouldn't make for a good calendar pic though....

I can try to get some pics with christmas lights and snow. I will try tonight. Its a tough call mainly since alot of people are starting to turn off their christmas lights 🙁 There is a lot of snow here so i will see what i can dream up later on today.
