2002 Buick LeSabre, trying to figure out a shake in the front end while accelerating between the speeds 30-50 after that it goes away. i dont feel the shaking in the steering wheel. when i let off gas the shake goes away also. i already tried rotating the tires and it did stop for about a week but came back. any ideas?

Since it is torque related, I would suspect a halfshaft/joints.

I've seen problems like that from tires going bad and wheels out of balance.

+1, I had a similar problem years ago with my PAU. I took it to an expert in alignment/tire balance settings who had 40-yrs experience in the trade & he found the alignment to be perfect! He also found that the tire/wheel balance was OK, but wheel torque was way over specifications which should have been (100-ft lbs). He also said that whoever installed the wheels did not follow the proper star pattern in tightening the lug nuts. In addition, the hubs and rotors were rusted, which caused a slight offset of the wheels/tires mounting. We then cleaned & painted the rotor & hubs inside/outside mounting surface & painted with Pour-50. In addition, during that time, I replaced the tires & and was sure the wheels/lugnuts were tightened in a star pattern to the correct setting. No more vibration, problem solved!

tires were replaced with Michelin last year so should i go back up and see if they need rebalancing?

Yes, if you paid for the lifetime balance & rotation when the tires were installed, do not settle for anything less than a perfect ride. You could have rusty hubs, or corrosion on the hubs, but when you put some pressure on the installer, they will check all the possibilities for the vibration as mentioned. It is also possible you could have a bad CV joint??

ok im about to take her back to check tires.

out of curiosity how do you check the CV joint? i had her in for an oil change about a year ago and they found my right front CV boot was torn so if its not the tires it might be my CV joint. they wanted 650 for the job and since i failed to keep myself up to date on it and inspect it myself the problem might have escalated to my current issue. any advice is appreciated

ok just got back from tire place

they did rebalance the tires, and inspected the suspension. they said a couple of tires were an ounce off, and found no problems with the suspension in fact they complemented us on the condition saying all components were tight and good.

took her home and she is still shaking so i still have a problem

Last time I checked trying to keep your post up top when you're done with posting doesn't settle well with mods in any forum. There are plenty of other people on here looking for help. You're not the only one that matters.

who said i was done?

i still have a problem i could use some advice, i know plenty of other people here but after 2 weeks no replies besides "balance tires/cv shafts" i think im entitled to a bump to alert other members i still need help.

I'm also having a similar problem and I think it's a transmission issue.
I too went through the new tire, tire balance, front end alignment rout and
it's smooth as silk on the open road. Mine only does it when accelerating, and
not from a stand still. It's more right after a shift that it shutters and then it goes
away. Rather than a $2000 transmission rebuild, which I think is the right repair,
I'm going to try the transmission shift kit they have for it. I see good reports on
this forum for the results and $100 is better than $2000. I'm just waiting for the
temperature to warm up a bit and the snow to melt.

I'm another LeSabre with an acceleration shake. It starts at 40-45 and fades by 60mph. Also, it is most prevalent when steering to the right, fading as I steer to the center and is gone on a left turn. The shake will stop when I get off the gas or if I kick it into passing gear ( 3000+ rpm ). First off I knew the suspension was worn so I replaced struts and shocks. Checked all the brake calipers to be sure there was none sticking /hanging up. I didn't like the front left wheel bearing, so I replaced both front bearings. Tires are new as are the brake rotors and pads. CV axles are tight with no slop at all. I considered the rack and pinion as it is present when steering to the right. Did have a leaking seal on the right side. Replaced that. I'm down to suspension bushings and the transmission. I'll be talking to the trans shop this week. I've been driving it in between the work done, and there have been subtle changes to the shake, but the basic problem is still there. I'll update after the trans shop and I will have the tire balance rechecked. One thought, I have been concerned about wear on the tires from this issue and so far I don't see anything undue. They were new last fall. Kinda makes me think it is in the rear suspension mounts?

so i had a problem come up with the car that may help me pinpoint the shaking, my ABS light just popped up. it goes off every time i restart the engine. but pulling the code comes up LFT FT wheel speed sensor so im thinking my hubs are bad. which i dont understand because i had the suspension inspected and they said it looked great and saw no problems.

i should say the ABS code is only in the DTC history, every time i try current it says "no codes are stored in the module" could a faulty hub cause my shaking? i raised the car and checked and found no play so im stumped

UPDATE NEXT DAY: so the ABS code did not come back on, drove all over today didnt see ABS so i dont know whats going on there. i have the new hubs ordered and ill put them on, see what happens.

but anyway i when i got home just on a hunch i grabbed the tailpipe and i was able to wiggle side to side almost as if there is no hangers holding it on. could that cause my shaking?

Bad Torque converter. I had the same problem. All new suspension parts and bushings motor mounts struts and tires.

I agree it is driveline and not suspension. In order of $$$.... Half Shafts because a bad CV Joint can do that, then Torque Converter. If your CV boot is ripped, then dirt and water get in there and start wearing away the joint. Torque Converter shudder could also cause your issue.

My friend has an 2002 Lesabre Limited and he had a horrible shake on acceleration. I mean off the line until you let off the throttle. HORRIBLE shake that moved the steering wheel. He replaced the entire front suspension, and no change. Swapped out with new half shafts, problem gone.

My shake at 70 mph was warped rear rotors, shook so bad it felt like the front end…changed the rotors and pads all around and the shaking stopped

I have an 03 Buick century it started shaking I have new tires new brakes went back to have the tire rotated and balanced thinking it would stop the shaking. It shakes while im accelerating between 45 and 50 stops till I get to 70 75 and it shakes again any ideas
