Would a 89 buick century 3.3 engine and transmission be a direct fit into an 93 buick century? Cam lobe took a shit in the 93 because of a failed lifter. And I have an engine and transmission I pulled from an 89 ready to be swapped. I know the internals are miles apart but it seems it would be direct fit. And I know the computers are the same

I've never done that swap. But since both engines are the same LG7, there is no reason why you would have any problems.

Thanks for the reply I'm just gonna give it a shot everything looks the same. At this point I have nothing to lose

I know the 93 has a different crank sensor. But I think the connection to the crank sensor is the same on both model years 89 and 93.

I'm not sure if this will be a problem. I don't think it will be because the connection is the same.

hope it works out for you.

Worst case scenario, you will have to get the harness and ECM from an 89 century.

Well apparently the part numbers for the ecm are the same so I think all will be okay. We will see how it goes. I love these buicks with the 3.3 to much to scrap it

I have a feeling everything will be OK. As long as all the engine sensors have the same connections.

CPS, ICM, harmonic balancer, and possibly timing cover are unique to the '93. They finally did away with the stupid, adjustable CPS (and TPS) for the last year of the 3300.
