I'm ok with the wiper switch, but I understand what you're saying.

I have a similar gripe with the manual shift... We have it so forward is up and backward is down shift,... But I would prefer it the other way around. I'd like back to be up and forward to be down because of the g forces when accelerating and braking dictate this to me. I suppose I want it like a sequential racing shifter.

If you like the shifter like that (backwards) you would have liked my wife’s former 2011 Lincoln MKZ.
To upshift, you pulled back.
To downshift, you pushed forward.

Much better the way Buick (and my Sonatas) does it.
To upshift, you push forward.
To downshift, you pull back.

Absolutely on the manual shift, I'd rather have it the other way around. And the gas cap, every time I drive into the gas station I have to look at the fuel gauge to see which direction the little arrow is pointing.

You mean you couldn't get used to 1 up 5 down? Every street bike that I have ever ridden has been 1 down 5 (or 4) up.

and then ride an old British bike with the shift lever on the opposite side as modern bikes ...lol

I think he meant over the years he tried 1 up 5 down and could never get used to it. The way bikes are from the factory (1 down 5 up) is what feels most natural for him.
