Tips and Tricks with TourX ?

I noticed the shark too. It seems from what I've read that an Opel designer who was responsible for designing the plastic mold of the side of the glovebox on an early 2000's Opel asked his son what he should put there. His son responded that he should design a shark into it. So he did. And ever since then all Opel models have had a shark hidden in the their design somewhere.

Found the lurking, bottom-feeder.... (Driver-side cup holder base)

Yes, I want to assign memory seat bas d upon key, so when key#1 opens it, it is set to memory settings automatically, compared to key#2 opening it.

You would have to first set them by following the instructions on page 13 in your owner's manual.
Then you start the car with the corresponding remote inside the vehicle, the seat and outside power mirrors shall move to the corresponding position if you enabled the seat entry memory.
In order to determine which is key 1 and which is key 2, you bring only 1 of the 2 remotes inside the car to start the vehicle. The instrument panel will tell you which key you used.

If you have both remote inside the vehicle at the same time when you start her up...it would be a Schrödinger's cat experiment.

Thanks that worked.

What is shark in the cup holder ? I'm going for a tint this spring.
I've never had AWD vehicle and this is first one, and I've never had snow tires in 20 years of my northeastern life. So I'm not 100% sure if I will need on my Buick.
AWD is not invincible.
Having AWD but no-season tires are like the lovely furry friends in this clip.
All 4 paws trying to run, but grip is limited without the right shoes.
It may help you get going, but is not going to help you stop.
In fact, it may give you a false sense of security and make you feel there are more traction than the vehicle actually has.

Sadly, I cannot find a clip of a FWD with winter tires vs AWD with no-season tires.
The closest I found is a FWD with winter and AWD with summer.

@mjoshi One of the first things I did when I bought the car in the Spring of 2018 was to get the windows tinted. I find that even in Michigan Summer (relatively mild, as I'm sure Upstate NY is), The AC has a hard time cooling down with a larger cabin than the sedan.

Obviously while it's still winter, it's no big deal, but if you aren't too concerned with following the letter of the law, I would get the windows tinted. I know it's anecdotal, but I've never had a problem with an officer harassing me about window tints. I find that being ready for the officer is the best way to mitigate this. This means having the interior lights on, and window open when the officer gets to your door and having your hands completely visible.

Did you get the front side windows tinted?

Did you have trouble finding a tint shop that would do it (as it is illegal, unfortunately here in MI)?

I would like to do it on the Tourx but would really prefer all side windows tinted (I just think it looks better).

I had it done on a car back in 1985, and the shop never even warned me, and it was before Google. Got one ticket over the 12 years I had the car. It was a fix-it ticket, so I would not have to pay the fine, if I proved the offending tint was removed. I chose to pay the fine as it was cheaper than removing and then adding the tint back on. Point was, I was never pulled over because of the tint (and it was pretty dark tint), but was for something else, and he nailed me for it.

Yes I did. I've never had a problem getting tint shops to do it for me down in the Metro Detroit area.

Really depends on how and where you drive. But with that said, most other cars are very repairable...it seems parts are in short supply for this vehicle, so spending a few hundred on a winter set may provide a lot more than just better confidence in the snow.
Snow tires don't stop another car from crashing into you.......

If the instantaneous mileage bar is to be trusted, go ahead and switch to manual mode in town/under 45ish. My transmission likes to be in 7th/8th at around 1200 RPM under high load. Downshifting to 6th/1700 RPM shows about a 5 MPG improvement.

If you get a clunking noise upon braking, there's a control arm TSB for that. If your car is optioned to show speed limit signs in the DIC (not to be confused with the ASS), but the signs don't show up, there's also a TSB for that. Search this forum for posts from me from late-winter/spring of '19 and you'll find the relevant info/numbers. There's also a FB TourX forum which many of us find helpful. Enjoy your TourX.

If you ever notice when you are washing the car the drying towel or whatever snags the points at the ends of the front fascia (mine did), this procedure really minimizes that and the chance of messing up the pointed part. Post 8 in: Section of Front Grill with Insufficient Support

Out of all the cars that I have had full tint done to, not a single shop has ever said they won't do it beyond the stupid six inch strip, that MI allows A lot of them do offer "insurance" you can buy for up front, during install, that will cover taking off the tint, which will satisfy the fix-it ticket. And then reinstall the tint. I always do 20% all the way around, save for the front windshield, which I don't tint.

Now for something completely different....as I was buckling up this morning to drive to a QT here in Atlanta, my passenger was buckling in his seatbelt, and noticed that the Latch Plate has a strip of duct tape on the side that faces the middle of the car. Sure enough, so did mine. Makes perfect sense so the latch plate wont scratch the plastic of the center consul. Anyone else have a strip of tape on the Latch Plate?

Just an idea for the forum moderator, in previous auto forums I have participated in there was an option to permanently "pin" posts at the beginning of the topics list and this was often used to have a FAQ posting that was similar to this thread. But you would have all of the info in one large list at the beginning that would be easy to search for.
