What did you do to your Regal today?

I like it. TBel. Everyone’s favorite spot to get the wet farts. Lmao
Ain't that the truth! Curious, most of my cars were manual trans when I was younger and I loved'em. Does your 6 spd shift tightly and smoothly and play nicely w your clutch? Is the 2012 GS the only model that came w a manual?

No, her Terrain has a 2.4L 4 cylinder Engine.
It's Not Leaking that we can see, no Oil Spots anywhere!
There was evidently a Class Action Law Suit Filed about the 2.4L Engines Burning Oil.
Instead of letting it get to court GM Settled and has agreed to Repair engines within certain specs
(Certain Model Years, Under a Certain Mileage and must Burn 2 Quarts between Oil Changes are three of the specs).
The Testing that's being done it to see if her SUV is eligible for the repair.
Pretty sure it will be Eligible, as she burned more than two quarts between her last Oil Changes.
Just checked it myself a couple days ago and she is low again, nothing showing on the Dipstick, thus the purchase of the Oil Yesterday.

We received a card in the mail about this Settlement shortly after I started looking for a Car.
Our son advised me against buying a Car or SUV with that Engine, but didn't give me a reason, I didn't ask either.
I was already leaning towards a Regal, but was also considering Lacrosse, Enclave, Malibu, Impala, Equinox, Acadia or Terrain.
He told me if I purchased an Equinox or Terrain to get the 6 Cylinder instead of the 2.4L.
About 6 years before, we had a 2013 Buick Regal as a Loaner Car, I absolutely loved it (Premium II)!
I decided at that time, the next time I purchased a car it was going to be a Buick Regal.

Speaking of my Regal, think I should go and clean the Snow off of it.
We've had somewhere between 2-4 inches of very wet snow this morning.
Luckily, not too much is sticking to the roads.
On the Bad Side; I'm sure my City has Caked the Roads with Salt as we had a lite winter and loads of salt left!
On the Good Side; we are on Quarantined Lockdown in the State and I really have no place I need to go!
It's a shame, I was out yesterday picking up a few groceries we were out of: Eggs, Milk, Butter, etc... and the station we buy gas at was $1.07 per gallon, I could actually afford to drive again!

Thanks for the heads up, Bugs! Nice to hear that GM stepped up to fix the problem. My Regal story's similar to yours. I drove my mother-in-law's 2011 2.4 four-banger, German manufactured CLX and loved the sporty feel of it. I decided right then and there that I was going to get one. So after I got rid of my big suv, I bought a new 2017 (didn't want the new body style, 2018 or newer)...and the rest is history.
BTW, I agree about the cheap gas; it's the cheapest it's been in a while, but we're stuck in the house w a full tank of gas and not able to drive anywhere. Can't win for losing! Good luck.

Yep, they sure are Oil Burners.
That's why GM agreed to fix them if you meet all the criteria.

I'm Glad I bought my Buick Regal with it's 2.0L Turbo.
It does stink that I'm not supposed to be out Driving right now, Quarantined!

MKz2017PremII,
I'm glad I bought the older Style Regal with the Waterfall Grill .
I was okay with the Front Grill on the Newer Style, but that was about it.
Really didn't care for the inside (at least the ones I looked at, and I don't care
for the Hatchback at all!
Guess the Hatchback would be okay if I was going to Haul a lot of stuff, but
I'm not, that's what my wife's Terrain is for.

Bought her a pressure washer ( forgot I didn’t have the bottle for my foam cannon😢😢) and hand washed her for the first time since I bought it in winter and it was too cold to run the spigot. Amazed at how easy this car is to wash, especially compared to my 300 lmao. Much smaller and the 300 had deep crevices that held soap and took forever to get the out. Waiting patiently impatient for my tune to be emailed back so I can see first hand all this fun you all are having lol. Had a low boost code and thought maybe the turbo went bye bye and was ready to buy the zzp big wheel turbo but it was only the IC piping coming off the turbo side happy and sad day at the same time lol.

I washed my Regal and my Wife's GMC Terrain yesterday.
They are both in the driveway and I can't spray one without getting the other wet.
Right now we aren't allowed to park on the street or I would have moved one out of the driveway!

I dried them off afterward with a New Chamois.
The Chamois was leaving Streaks because of the Natural Oils in the Chamois.
It will take a while to get all the Oils worked out of the Chamois.
I was also having trouble getting the cars dried before the wind could dry them.
If the wind got them first, it was leaving spots.
Mine is the Dark Sapphire Blue and hers is Black, so those Spots really show up.

Took the Winter Mats out of the Regal and Terrain yesterday too.
I never took my carpeted mats out, but I did take my Wife's out of her SUV.
I had to sweep hers before putting them back in, never got around to it last fall.

Bought a pair of New Wiper Blades for my Regal today.
The Drives side was starting to fall apart.
I finally remembered to get a pair while I was in the store and not on the way home!
I did get them put on once I got home, we are in the rainy season now and I'll be needing them.

Decided to jump in my Regal and take her for a drive.
We did a little City Driving and a little Highway Driving on the Interstate.
For there being a Statewide Quarantine there sure was a lot of Traffic.
We were only out for about 45 minutes, I never got out of the car or was face to face with anyone.
Felt so good getting out for a while, I'm sure my Regal felt the same way!

LOL, I washed my Regal today as well. I knew it was going to rain most of the day, but it needed it SOOOO bad. That and I really needed to go for a drive. Luckily the local car wash was open(haven't pulled the pressure washer out for the season yet), so I was able to get it all nice and clean. Now I just have to tackle the wheels.

I lovingly put a clean and mirror-like shine on my 18" chrome, seven-spokers today.

I'm afraid to use my Pressure Washer on a car.
I've been told it might take the paint off, so I've never used it for that.
Maybe if I was considering having it painted? 😎
I do use it on the Driveway, Back Porch and Sidewalks, the House Exterior, the Shed and also the Deck I built for my pool!

During the winter I take her to the Car Wash to get any salt off of her.
In the Spring, Summer and Fall I wash her right out in the Driveway, occasionally going to the Car Wash for an Underbody Wash!
Can't really do a good underbody wash in my driveway.

as long as you buy a foam cannon or a car friendly tip it’ll be fine. If you use the zero or 15 degree tip yes you will absolutely blast your paint off.

Our state mandate allows for "driving for pleasure". Given that you don't come in to contact with other humans, and the oil market is cratering because nobody is driving anywhere, I am surprised all states don't allow that.

Our State might, I never checked before going for my drive.
I know we are allowed to be out to buy Groceries, Supplies, etc...
I have been shopping at Sam's Club, Meijer's and Wal-Mart a few times during the past 4 weeks.

We have a Side-by Side in the kitchen and there is NO Room for a lot of food.
We also have a Fridge (Top Freezer) in the Garage but it stopped working and I haven't got it fix or replaced yet.
So we no longer have that Extra Room for the Food.
The Fridge in the House is about 20 years old, the Upright Freezer in the Garage is about 20 years old too.
The Fridge that stopped working is only 7 years old!

Anyway, I do get to get in my Regal to go shopping, as my wife doesn't like shopping with this Virus around.
Can't say I like taking the risk either, but we have to have food to eat.
I have purchased a few things for my car too while out buying groceries.

I used Adam's Ceramic Wheel coating on my wheels today. I am letting them cure for 24 hours and then I am going to hit them with the hose to see how well the water beads and sheets.
I took off the wheels and did the barrels as well.

I gave mine new rear brakes, wheel bearings and shocks. Also spent a couple hours on the wheels with a toothbrush and chrome polish.

My 6 speed is still pretty good as far as feel. There’s a mechanical detent in the shifter so you can actually feel it click in gear. It took some getting used to, but I’ve grown to like it now. The clutch is probably due to be replaced soon, but the car has 131,000 miles. No clue if it’s the original one or not, I bought the car used. It still holds power fine but I’d rather do it before it doesn’t hold power. The car is tuned, so it’s a little more angry than most of the Buicks on the road in my area. The 6 speed was an option on all Regals as far as I know from 2011 - 2016. It will never shift like a true sports car, but there are short shift options out there for it as well. I like it and it’s a great anti-theft device. 😂

I decided to keep driving my GS longer after seriously looking at an ‘18 GS last week. Mine is now 7 years old and drives like brand new without one rattle. I also have a spare tire and my engine doesn’t turn off at lights.
