Coding in additional information pages/themes to Guage Cluster

Is this possible for early 2018 cars (red needle)?

Sorry it didn't work out, other than some of the sentence structure it works for me.

Ok guys, check this out. I know this is a previous generation. But look what he did to change from opel theme to Buick GS. Just posting it here, so we can accumulate as much info as we could.

Well that answers one question on the Insignia 'A' cars--the branding doesn't reside in the HMI since when he changed the cluster graphics to Buick, the infotainment screen remained Opel. The next video after the above one showed a 'red needle' GS cluster getting a 'white needle' update--eh, not so sure 'bout mixing the two...

Yeah, looks like he has files on his computer, that he just flashing to the cluster. This was facelifted insignia A. So I think the OS is remained the same for the red needles with old infotainment systems. That means- we need to flash both HMI and the cluster( is gets updated).

Do we have any updates on whether or not the tourx can use the digital cluster? Specifically, an early 2018 red needle tourx with the first wave infotainment? I'd love to have it in the wagon.

I'm interested in this too. It seems a pretty popular mod over there to install the GS cluster and unlock all the hidden menu's. I plan on asking White Automotive about this when I get with them about enabling the cooled seats.

I can't wait to hear if White or someone else can get the cooled seats working. Only thing I'm waiting on to pull the trigger on them! Then a GS cluster (assuming it works) and maybe a tune and I would be way happier with this car and the features we should have been able to get.

I think new cluster has to be programmed with your vehicle VIN number. I know this is how it worked on previous generation insignia.

As in provide the VIN and have it coded in? That seems easy enough. Or do you mean the car needs to be there to be linked?

As far as I know, just the cluster has to be programmed- so the car would recognize it.

RoRi, any word from White yet?

Uniqez, did you get a working cluster yet?

Not yet. I'm in the process of narrowing my search down and close to get a test cluster. These experiments are pricy. I have person in UK, who can do it for me, but logistics is kind of sucks. Also, I'm trying to find used cluster, so I can save some money. Based up on my research- it will work 100%. Potentialy, it will be possible to select the theme (buick, opel, Vauxhall).

Oh I did't realize you were doing it all experimentally! That would be pricey, indeed. I would think it would be cheapest to find a used one from a crashed GS, since it should have most of the Buick stuff already baked in. Assuming you want it all to say Buick that is.

Yeah, I'm looking for one from GS- but virtually non available ( I also needed ealrly version aka red needles. ).

Last I heard from WAMS was that they were still waiting on some cables (backordered) from GM in order to set-up a car emulator on the bench. They've got the GS clusters working--instrument wise--but the car branding is requiring a bit more investigation, hence the need for the emulator. They're looking at sending out my cluster along with a USB stick with, what we hope, will be the VXR graphics (I suppose they may have Opels' OPC as well) that can be installed after I install the cluster & we can sort it out.

Fingers crossed.
