Also interested in your opinion. Spoiler came with 3M would you recommend poly as well or do you think the 3M would suffice?

I ordered the OEM Opel spoiler and it came with 3M as well. The tape covered the entire perimeter, so I doubt anything more is needed. But, it is a larger spoiler... so if you intend to use it as a handle when closing the hatch, you're putting more stress on the adhesive by torquing on the spoiler.
I don't touch my paint, so I wouldn't personally add anything. If you want the added assurance of the poly, go for it.
