Turbo replacement

Im wanting to replace my turbo. Car just hit 80,000 miles. Any suggestions on which turbo to go with? I'm having boost issues and the valve cover has been replaced, coil packs, spark plugs, Maf is clean and all the pcv hoses/pcv system is clear. The car isn't throwing any codes but I want to replace the turbo. It doesn't have the boost it used too. Thanks.

How did you measure the boost? How did you check if the system held pressure? I made myself a pressure tester for about $15 when I suspected a leak. I had a couple minor leaks and tightening a few clamps fixed it.

I monitor my boost with the Torque APP. Max I've seen is 13.6 PSI under heavy acceleration but most of the time it never goes over 8 PSI.

You will need a similar turbo with internal waste gate, you can order aftermarket for a good price..

I didn't measure it. I just wanted a recommendation for a turbo replacement. But it also won't Rev passed 4000 rpms. But maybe that's normal idk lol

If it won't go over 4000 rpm on highway you may have a plugged catalytic converter.

Ebay has them for about $250. Also MelsRegal, it is not uncommon for these turbos to go out well before 80K miles.

That is the rev limiter. You shouldn't need a turbo. My Regal also revs to about 4000 rpm when parked.

Unless you've really been bad on maintenance it probably isn't the turbo. Check the electric boost controller and bypass valve first. Those are more likely the culprit

Where are those components? Bypass valve and boost controller? Can they be replaced?

Don't buy the part if it isn't defective. Check for cracked lines or leaks first. And no need to to drain anything these are vacuum lines you see.
