2014 Buick Verano - Can Non-Touch screen be swapped with the Touch Screen? If so, what would it take?

Just bought my son a 2014 Verano and I found out he can't have a non-stock radio installed. I was thinking about using an aftermarket product that would enable Apple Carplay to work, but it requires the touchscreen. Can the Non-Touch screen dash area be replaced with a Touchscreen, and what would that take?

Try a part store, or a junkyard but even if you get the part, the software or firmware may not be in your car to support the enhanced screen. Good luck!

Skylarkin- Thanks for the reply. As to your suggestion, I can find the parts, but I was wondering exactly what you said. Would the software or firmware or whatever is required for that touch screen to work already be present in a car that did not originally have the touch screen? I realize the back up camera is not there, but would that really matter for the rest of the functionality of the touch screen?

As on most infotainment systems you may want to check with a dealer if it's programmed to the vehicle as most system, except aftermarket, are not necessarily plug and play.

I did contact a local dealer and he explained that the display is not the only part to the system (which I knew) and that there may be other components that would be necessary (which I also knew). However, he had no idea what those other parts may be or if it could be made to work. That is why I am posting on a Buick forum as I figure it will take someone with intimate knowledge of GM infotainment systems to know if this could be done and what it would take.

However, that item only works with the color touchscreen and I do not have the touchscreen interface, I have the other one. That is why I am asking this question, I want to know if I buy the larger touchscreen display off ebay along with whatever other parts would be necessary (I am not sure which additional parts would be necessary), could I install those parts and switch my Buick from monochrome Non-touchscreen to Color Touchscreen?

Bman2020 Did you ever figure out if you could swap to a Color Touchscreen, I'm looking at buying a 2016 Buick Verano with the basic OEM non-touchscreen monochrome radio and I was wondering if I could go to a scrap yard and get the color touch screen...?
