As you probably know the 2011 2.4l has an issue with the oil ring on the cylinder causing blow by. Mine starting drinking oil at 50K and I lived with it. Within the past few months, its now gulping a quart every 200 miles. Dealership wants $3000 to replace the cylinders and timing chain. The car is still beautiful and drives like a dream.
Those 240K miles are super gentle highway miles (long commute) I've briefly looked at some aftermarket engines for aprox $4500. Questions:
Those 240K miles are super gentle highway miles (long commute) I've briefly looked at some aftermarket engines for aprox $4500. Questions:
- Can I bolt on a v6 onto my existing transmission (don't know the type...but my car has a 2.4l
- If I got a v6, would I have to buy a new computer. I wonder if those after market ones come with a new one.
- Anyone have an recommendations on engine builders.
- Or should I just sell it (Doubt I'd get much for it because of the mileage and oil issues)
