2021 Buick Encore GX - Passive Lock

I frequently keep my key in my purse, and my purse in the backseat. If I close my driver door and do not open the back seat door fast enough, will the car passive lock itself? I guess my question is: if the key is IN the car, will it lock the keys in side?

It's supposed to detect the presence of a FOB in the car.
You have two FOBs, test it, by leaving one inside and have the other one nearby on the outside .

I was hoping that someone would know from experience without me having to test. That said, if no one can answer I will happily test it myself and report back 🙂 Thanks !

Yes the car will lock if you have it setup. You have to mess around with the settings to either turn it off or give you more of a delay time before the doors lock

Read page 9 of the owners manual. If the RKE signal is effected by other signals it is possible to lock your FOB in the vehicle. So if you have the FOB in your purse on the back seat, disable the auto lock feature.

It's all based on how you have the lock settings setup
