ASS went away?

I've been discussing in a parallel thread. The temperature is below 30F but above 8F (ASS did not work at 8 degrees or below today) from my experience the last couple days. It's supposed to warm up a little here over the next few days so I'll see if I can narrow that range down. It was 5F on my drive home from work tonight!

On another note... One thing I noticed yesterday is that it seems the heated steering wheel may adjust based on temperature in the car. When I hopped in the 5F car yesterday the heated steering was noticeably hotter.

One more data point to contribute.
22F today, ASS was functional on my wagon at the red light leaving the stealership.
(Note, it had been trickle-charged and garaged regularly. Climate control set at 74.)

I think the heated steering wheel has 1 temp setting, but if the ambient air is 50 degrees, it doesn’t feel as warm as if the ambient air is 5 degrees.

On the overall topic, I don’t think there is a one-answer-fits-all to what temps affect your ASS. It’s a function of electric use, battery life, temp (which affects the battery). If you have the heated seats cranked to the max, the rear defroster going, heated steering wheel as well as a high fan speed, it might be possible to disable your ASS as a result. That said, I drove for a half a day in stop and go Atlanta suburb traffic and my ASS worked every time, but temps were in the 50s

I honestly think it’s a combo of battery life, electricity usage (seats, blower, AC, steering wheel, headlights, etc), and temp (which also affects battery). There is no one single answer to what temp causes your ASS to stop working.

It's happened to me now, ASS went away. I haven't been driving much, maybe twice in a two week period. It's colder here now, but not that cold. Everything else seems to work normally, but I noticed the voltage screen is stuck at 15.2V when normally it jumps around.

I just passed 20k miles on a 2019 white needle. Seems too soon for the battery to go south.

15.2 V is very high. That means the charging system is working hard to charge the battery.
You might want to invest in a battery tender/trickle charger if you are driving so little like me. 😉

Very similar situation.

Continuing my experience with this - We started our most recent short trip the other day in temps in mid 20's, getting colder,. After about 150 miles mostly thruway, the TourX sat overnight temps in teens (deg F), no issues powering-up and starting next morning and drove another 100 mi or so up to the Adirondacks. She sat overnite in single-digits - no issues w/battery power. All the while, no ASS. (although I did see first occurrence disappearing/reappearing backup camera lines). I recall volt gauge was at about 13.4 V after those short trips. Will be keeping an eye on things, and keeping a charger with me for the rest of this little trip, and will have Dealership look at it when we get back. Agree, seems like too early for battery to be going, but this is a different vehicle than I've ever had.

I've now seen it work down to 14F. Will keep watching this winter. I just find it interesting since my Cruze shuts off ASS at 40F.

Mine is going haywire now.
No ASS at 32, 34, 37 or 41 F, during these past few days.
As soon as I hook it up with the trickle charger, it works on the next drive. Guess the battery is about shot.

I have never replaced mine since ownership.
It is officially over 2 years since I got her. Perhaps it is time for it to be replaced. 🤔

Also updating...we drove up to central VT last week, a little over 200 mi. By the time we reached Rutland VT with its many stop lights, and stop and go traffic on its main gasoline alley, ASS came back on!
