Had my 2018 white needle essence in on Friday because I'm getting the "Shift to Park" message on shut down, had to order parts.

But while there they did the brake vacuum recall, can't remember the numbers but it was discussed here somewhere with GM saying no repair available yet, well, it's now available.

They did the recall which did require a flash of the brake software. I'm sure the car is MUCH safer now...

How much did they quote for the shift to park fix? Mine has started doing as well. Watched a video on how to "fix", but curious what a replacement would cost. Thanks!

My TourX is in the dealer shop today getting the plastic rocker sills replaced under warranty and they mentioned the brakes, hopefully they'll do the fix too. Will report back upon pickup.

Good to know. Vinnythehead I just had my shift to park fixed. I only paid $100 since my extended warranty covered it, but if it didn't it was around $500 iirc.

fix applied, s'about all I got out of him.

I went in for an oil change today, and also got the brake recall fix applied.

She goes in tomorrow for the shift to park issue, as mine has the 100k B2B it's no charge but I can look at the invoice when they're done and let you know what numbers they put down.

I would love to know this as well since mine is doing the same thing!

Well, had my daughter drop the car off and pick it up, but the invoice shows N/C of course as it's under warranty, had I picked it up I would have gotten a price for you. Sorry guys, I guess I muffed that one.

I was pretty bugged when I received that letter. "Hey we found this potentially life-endangering problem with your car, don't schedule an appointment though, because we don't have a fix yet"

The dealership flashed mine when I took it in for a service on Thursday. They actually ended up calling me and asking for more time with it after letting me know it was done because they apparently were having some issues with the software in other cars and "wanted to make sure it was done right".

Interesting, my dealer did spend a lot of time as well, hopefully many dealers are taking it seriously.

Mine literally took the entire day. I had it in early in the AM for my service appointment, they called at 11am to let me know it was done, then they called an hour-ish later to make sure I hadn’t left to come pick it up because of the aforementioned problems. I called before they closed that night to check on it, and was told they needed it overnight. I wasn’t called to come pick it up until about 9am the next day.

What’s up with the plastic rocker panels ?
Mine has been peeling off at the corner due to bad double sided tape. They ordered a replacement, but no idea when it may come in.

as joshuab wrote: Plastic rocker panels started to pull away from the body, this happened to mine near the rear wheel arch. I was pretty sure it was originally caused by ice melting & refreezing behind the panel and expanding a bit (I bought the car when I lived in Minnesota) - the dealer said they had to replace the whole piece of plastic as opposed to just re-taping it. Fine by me as it was covered under warranty. The pieces only took a few weeks to arrive.

Took my car to the dealer for an inspection, oil change and recall.

Apparently my car was up to date from the factory.
The build date is 3/20/20

Note from the dealer:
Recall n22370090
ECBM was up to date with its calibration, no action required.
Labor .3/hrs.

And no, they did not charge me for it.

Got mine done today. Took a few minutes, they said it was just a software fix. IMG_20220916_122641283.webp

And to follow up on another poster's comment: all official recalls are done free of charge.

can someone describe to me the difference the fix made?

I've noticed absolutely no difference. Zero vacuum situations shouldn't be common. The old school setup was to pull vacuum from the intake side of the engine. But when you have a turbo, you're pressurizing the intake. No dice pulling vacuum there. So they use an electric vacuum pump. It's sized such that zero vacuum situations are outside normal operation.

What’s the point of the vacuum?
