1998 Buick riviera
Hey guys I need desperate help...
I have replaced the ignition switch and ignition lock cylinder on my 1998 Buick Riviera it wouldnt start and my mechanic told me it needs to be re-programmed. I towed it to their shop and they couldn't get a connection to the bcm. Idk what they all did to it or if they even tried to diagnose the issue other than try to use there scanner to program it. I might be facing a loss here and might not have the car any longer which will hurt a lot. Let me know what I can do. I don't wanna loose my Buick! ;'(

When you replaced the ignition switch/lock cylinder, did the switch come with a blank key, with no matching resistor? If so, you will need to use the original key with the correct resistor value & have it cut using the (dummy) key as a guide. Dou still have the original key(s)?

Yes I swapped the pins in the lock cylinder from the old lock to the new so I can use the original keys I can turn the key no problem and put the key in and pull it out of the cylinder
