Recently, my 2005 Park Avenue started to stall while driving, but would restart. Also, while driving, it seems to hesitate quite a bit, and the RPMs will go down, the shoot back up. And a couple times, it has refused to start. But started after sitting for a bit. What could the problem be? I've seen other forums that say fuel pump, a tow truck driver once told me fuel pump, but my dad suggested the starter?

My car has over 228,000 miles.

Welcome to the forums! The fluctuating RPM & occasional stalling could be the first signs of a failing crank position sensor (CKPS), or ignition control module (ICM). Has either been replaced? When the engine refused to start for awhile, did the starter turn the engine over, or not? You should also have the fuel pressure tested as well as the battery & connections.

I don't think either has been replaced. I bought from my oldest son, who treated it as a race car at times. When the car refused to start, it cranks, but didn't turn over.

When the starter is turning the engine over but will not start, you need to check for spark to the plugs.

Recently, I had the coil package changed, so yea, I’ll what I can do. Thx

I assume, when you said you "replaced the coil packs" that included the ICM under the coils?

We are still waiting for a replay from 3-days ago? We can not help much here without current testing advice given & the results. I wish you the best!

I hope you found the problem during the last 7-day week. If not, we can continue trying to help if you want to update this thread. 🙄
