Having issues with my 13 GS manual. Had the stock turbo die on me at just over 200k on the odo. Had it replaced. The whole thing, manifold, turbo, bypass valve, waste gate, the solenoid everything. Since then I’ve had this issue where I get up to around 3-4000rpm it varies depending on the gear and you feel the boost build and then just stop dead. So for example. Sitting at a light and it turns green, coast is clear, let’s send it, start rolling and then floor it, boost is great, we’re having fun, rpm’s hit 3500, and turbo just dies. Not like I hit a wall but you almost lurch forward the power drops off so fast. 6th gear I can get up to almost 100mph but I hit that 4000rpm and bam same thing. And i can still drive after that but the boost is almost non existent. Now the weird thing it doesn’t go away if I shut the car on or off but it I use a code reader and even tho I have no codes (normally. We’ll get to that) if I clear codes twice I’ll have normal boost again until I hit that rpm threshold. My mechanic says it’s just because the turbo needs to be broken in. It’s been 2 months since I had the new turbo put in, the car was in the shop for 5 weeks while he “fixed” it and it’s still doing it. Something else is going on here. I did get a few codes. Not all the time just every once and a while. I’ll attach pics of the codes. I just need some ideas besides what’s been replaced that could be causing this. Replacing the VVT solenoids and map sensor this weekend to see if that fixes anything but I’m getting desperate. I’m getting pissed I’m getting outrun by teens in 2000’s accords that I’d normally smoke without even trying 😬

first check vacuum leek, also dose it have the stock bypass valve? might need a tune

Your mechanic is dodging the problem. The p2261 is telling you the problem.

>My mechanic says it’s just because the turbo needs to be broken in

ROFL. Would never give that guy any more work.

>Not like I hit a wall but you almost lurch forward the power drops off so fast.

You are throwing an underboost code at this point in time and the car goes into limp mode. Underboost codes do not illuminate the MIL. Maybe look for "pending codes" on your scan tool.

Signs point to a boost/vac leak. Boost leak test the car.
I had similar codes and found my vacuum reservoir was split in half.

Nope I’m in fact getting a P0234 Overboost code in pending lol

Nope but close! I am in fact getting a P0234 Overboost code in pending lol

Ah, I'm wrong. Overboost and underboost I guess are similar in the sense that they don't illuminate the MIL.

I'd still check vac lines and also the wastegate. WG and boost control solenoid control boost level, right?

Been toying with both. Basically just shooting the parts cannon at it now and seeing what sticks lol

Hi there,
New to the forum, am in the same boat. I have underboost code come up. Replace the map sensor and boost solenoid. With no luck, now the car has a code for the waste gate.

Mine doesn’t make boost and you can feel it boost and die off instantly. I have to rev to 4K to make the car move at grama pace, also 2 step the clutch. Rev boost/die off, rev again and them go.

I feel like an 18 wheeler.

Cheers

Little late on this but I'm having similar issues on a tuned 2013.
As soon as I get into boost, it feels like I'm violently hitting a wall and then all drops off. Whenever it /does/ boost, it feels like it has no power.
Y'all think that's the car switching into limp mode without setting CEL?

I initially thought it was trans messing up on kick down (auto) -- but it also does it in manual.
Currently no codes pending or set (haven't cleared so unsure why) -- but found a p0234 overboost in freeze frame data on my scanner - so there was a p0234 at some point

Was leaning towards just replacing wastegate + solenoid. Any input?
If this is better as it's own post lmk, but seems to be the same thing or very similar.

I replaced, map both boost solenoids and am thinking of doing a Mac boost solenoid upgrade. Not sure if anyone has done one, I think this is a weak point.

I’ll post an update, once it’s done.
