Buick Ownership
2021 Buick Encore GX Select
Check engine light came on Friday night. Had it scanned, got p1467 indicating a surge pump issue. Got an an appointment on Friday. Car has less than 16,000 miles. Kinda shocked that something emissions related to have such a short lifespan.

That’s crazy! I have a 2020 Buick encore GX and I just had that same code pop up! Did they tell you what happened?

Same! Mine came on in June 2022. Dealer wants $500 to repair. I still get 420+ miles per tank, so I’m waiting until echeck.

Faulty purge valve. Service writer indicated that GM had redesigned the valve in hopes to not have a continued issue. This was his answer to my question "Will I be back in 16,000 more miles to have this repaired again"

Same my just came on Friday during a rain storm 36,600 miles of course 600 miles over warranty

2021 Buick Encore GX - Same light just came on 21000 miles after an 8 hour road trip. I hate the dealer here they are crooks - not sure what to do - have another 8 hour road trip soon - hope I can find a good mechanic in time.

Mine is a 2021 and just came up on 26,000 miles and did the same thing. Buick dealership said that it’s not covered under waranty and would cost $600 to replace the evap purge pump, and another $200 because the gas tank would need to be drained. This doesn’t sound right at all for that new of vehicle and the price that they are charging.

Find a new dealership. This should be covered no issues as it pertains to emissions and you are within warranty period

Look up the Buick emissions warranty and if necessary contact Buick customer care.

The 3yr 36,000 bumper to bumper warranty covers the purge pump. So does the emissions warranty except that in most states its only covered for 2yr 24,000 miles. Several states extend the emissions warranty to 7yrs.

Emissions warranty I thought was Federal

It is a federal mandated warranty, for 2 years 24,000 miles. However, California and several other states have passed laws to require manufactures to extend the emissions warranty past the 2 years.

So the 8 year 80k miles only covers certain parts

True, the 8yr warranty only covers a few items that typically don't fail. The purge pump isn't covered. Seems to be rather common failure on these cars. Wish GM would create a hidden warranty as they do for other parts which commonly fail past the normal warranty period.

Has anybody had this fixed? I had my 2021 Encore GX in to the dealership on 04/21/23 and been waiting because they say the purge pump is on national back order. I created a claim with GM today to see about getting the part.

2021 Buick Encore GX Preferred- 12,000 miles check engine light came on. Auto zone pulled code - Evap purge pump underspeed. Twice now in the past week the light has come on! Dealership better fix this tomorrow!

2020 Buick GX, 2800 miles over the Bumper to Bumper warranty, P1467 code comes on, Dealer says it will be hundreds to fix, what a piece of shit, I will never buy another Buick or GM.

P1467 is an emissions code, not a wear and tear item. Wear and tear items (brakes, tires, etc) are the only things not covered by the B2B. If the dealer says it's not covered go to another dealer. Bumper to bumper means just that. I even had a headlight bulb replaced on my '06 HHR when I had the CPO warranty. Some dealers are really good, others suck rocks.

No one here cares if you will never buy another GM. No one from GM is on this forum. Only other owners. To say that though just because of one issue that the dealer is pulling the wool over you isn't even realistic.

Wife’s 2020 buick encore gx, about 55,000 miles check engine light came on, DTC said P1467, ordered the new purge pump from GM and it shipped to the house in a week for about 37 bucks or so. Super easy to replace, literally one 10mm bolt holding it. Installed it and cleared the code with a diagnostic scanner, drove it around for a good while to see if the fault popped back up. Everything’s good so far, we’ll see.

Also had my engine light on with the same purge pump issue. My car is still under warranty and they were able to replace and fix it within a few hours. They said there was a special bulletin issue by GM for this issue.
