Hello,
I’m trying to figure out where this coolant leak is coming from on my 430 V8. It’s a slow drip coming from above the oil pump on the RH front of the engine. It doesn’t look like it’s coming from a hose or anywhere that I can actually see with a mirror and light. Just thinking someone on here might have a suggestion. The motor is in a 1942 Buick Eight Custom.IMG_8663.webp

Most likely the front timing cover gasket and or the few mounting bolts that go into the water jacket. You need to wash off with some brake clean spray and make sure. Water travels around and maybe its a hose or waterpump that's a much easier job to tackle.

Thanks for your reply. I pulled the alternator and found the water was seeping from between the front of the block and water pump housing. Four or five of the bolts that go through weren’t quite tight enough. I think I’ve got it stopped but will monitor it for a while.IMG_8668.webp
