Onstar not connecting

I just bought a 2015 Regal Premium 1 yesterday. 38000 miles. To replace my 2012 Regal with 160K mils, oil leaks, needs brakes and rotors all the way around etc..

Bought it at a Toyota dealer as it was traded in to them. Everything is great except Onstar is not connecting. It has not been active since 2015. If you press the button twice, it says its connecting and just sits there and beeps. The call eventually ends on its own.

Onstar tried some things and says I need to bring it to the dealer. Thought I would check here to see if anyone has had this issue and what the resolution was. The dealer wants 190 bucks just to touch the car.

And yes I used the onstar living in MN for the remote start with the app since the range on these factory remote starts is horrendous.
 
Did Onstar mention that if the system is 3G it is no longer going to work?

I called onstar again this morning and they said its definitely 4G capable

I know it turns on and shows a map, haven't actually tried it and never will. Use my phone so you get live traffic. But wouldn't that be just plain GPS? I know onstar has turn by turn but thats different than whats on the intellilink screen i think

Trying to determine if you have an antenna problem. Try the navigation system.
 
I hate to be the guy that asks THAT question but, is there an account with OnStar for the VIN of your car?
Since you didn't specify that info.

I asked them if this could have anything to do with the fact is a 2nd owner and they said no, they would still be able to communicate with it (which they can't). I asked when is the last time it was active and they said 2015, so whoever had the car must have cancelled after the trial and never used it again.

Have you had a chance to try built in navigation to determine if there is an antenna problem?

Just in case it's the antenna here's some info.
I had to have a new antenna due to Sirius/XM dropouts.
The Buick dealer needed three tries to get the correct part due to the differences in the radio configurations and part number changes. Due to the cover being part of the antenna it must be painted to match if wanted.
Can't give a cost since I had the Buick Protection Plan that covered it all but the headliner must be lowered at least at the rear to access things.

Press it once and it says your onstar account is inactive and to press the blue button again to connect to activate. Green light flashes, and it beeps for a couple minutes and then says call ended. Onstar tech support also said to press it twice.

I have this issue with Onstar and I have a GS 2016 how can I fix this ?

My navigation is working fine.

Map updates are discontinued. Unless the aftermarket makes a complete head unit for 2016 there is no fix.
