Buick Ownership
1999 Park Avenue
I have a 1999 Buick Park Avenue with 243,xxx miles on it. My transmission started shifting rough on occasion. It comes and goes pretty randomly. Sometimes it's really bad and I'll get a service engine soon light with a P0742 "torque converter clutch circuit stuck on" code. Sometimes it will start shifting hard and clunking and I'll shut the car off for a few minutes. When I turn it back on it disappears. I ended up getting a transmission fluid flush and the problem went away for maybe a few weeks. It's back now and seems to be getting worse. Sometimes the transmission doesn't engage at all when I give it gas.Given the description I've given here, does anyone know what I can do about this? Unfortunately I am broke and I can't put any more money into it. 100$ yes, but anywhere north of that no can do

Show me what your fluid looks like and confirm the level when fully warmed up and after a 10 minute drive, follow the owners manual for how to check the dipstick. But I want to see this fluid, put it on a paper towel
