- 1999 Buick Regal GSE
I have a 1999 Buick Regal GSE with just turned 259,000 miles. I got my transmission rebuilt a little over year ago and has about 10,000 miles on it. This problem has been increasing little by little every month. So the problem is that when it shifts (at least when it tries) from 1st to 2nd, it'll rev until you take your foot off then it'll shift. I seen it as high as 4500 rpm! It only happens a few times a month and when the car is starting to warm up (about 10 minutes in). I am not mechanically inclined. The only theory I got going is either its a sensor or its just pressure related.
Things to note:
Things to note:
- I drive in "Performance Shift" as I personally feel it shifts too early, especially on the highways.
- I use "3rd" drive mode on the streets and use "D" on the highway.
- Fluid is not leaking and is a Cherry Red color.
- When the car is shifting normally, all gears feel the same.
- The car is not in Limp Mode or Long Adapt Mode.
- The only error codes I get is P0404 and P0141.
- Most of the time I make sure the car shifts at 2500 rpm (by letting my foot off slightly at that rpm).
- I have rowed through the gears (Shifting at 2500 rpm 1-2-3-D) before but that's when my transmission had about 3,000 to 4,000 miles on it.
