Rear push button for glass

Good morning all! I am full of questions here lately. On my 96 wagon the key unlocks the glass, the inside button releases perfectly along with the strong solenoid click and even the remote unlocks my glass. I suspect the black 4 pin connector that the push button hits then this little arm moves up and down. I tried to upload pics of the part. What is it called and will it not make the pushbutton work and also I noticed my gate ajar light is no longer working.

That looks like the end of a lever on a microswitch that allows the opening solenoid to allow it to be opened it only when it is in a certain position.

"It" may be the window or the hatch...

Does yours have the window go up into the roof and the gate down into the body? If so, it may just be a position-indicator switch to ensure the window has something to land on before it moves.

This may help on the part, but difficult to know if it's a component failure or harness issue as you mentioned the tailgate ajar isn't working or on anymore. A meter may help in troubleshooting, hopefully someone else on the forum can help.

Do you have exploded views like this of the cargo area, rear seat etc? I need to tear mine apart to fix rusty wheel wells and dont know wha Im getting into. I would love to have a parts manual for my 96 Roadmaster wagon!!!
