Hi I’m new here and not sure really what do do or how to start but here it goes …. I have a 2017 Buick regal I just registered for on star wifi etc will my intelink radio update now

Is your car equipped for OnStar? You can tell by looking at inside mirror for OnStar button?

Yea I have onstar right now

2017 and prior Regals do not have OTA updates for IntelliLink, that requires a computer with the proper software.
Any updates to OnStar or Sirius/XM use a cellular connection but normally don't add new features or function.

So the only features you gain are being able to use MyBuick to perform remote functions such as open and close doors and start. No other over the air functions.

How did you activated the onstar?

I tried activating it in my Regal GS 2016 but they told me that my car was equipped with old hardware.

Yes that is correct your hardware has to handle at least 4G. 3G is discontinued.

Hmm and if I change the module to a new one like a GS 2017?

Another thing I tried with a scan tool to access to telematics communication module in my car.

If I try the auto option it’s not showing up.

If I try with manual model selecting all the RPO codes for my car and selecting Telematics module 9.7 version it’s telling me that there’s no module

But if I try selecting the 10.0 version it is telling me that I have the module and I can access it but inside module information is not showing nothing.

But all of those are weird because if I click in the rear view mirror onstar button it’s telling me that it is not activated and I need to push it one more time to call an agent.
