I have a '67 Riviera and it has drum brakes in front. There is a '68 GS at a salvage yard which has the front disc brakes. Will that front disc brake system fit onto my '67? I want to know if all the hardware needed for the conversion is transferable from the '68 to my '67. I'd buy new calipers and rotors. Is there anything else that I'd need to buy to make the conversion? Thanks for reading my post and I appreciate all answers.

My mistake, the salvage car is a '68 Riviera Grand Sport. Sorry!
Yeah, then it should work. Get the spindles and everything if it is there. I linked the wrong kit before, this is the one you need if you can't get everything you need off the 68 Riviera GS.

BTW, see if the rear is still in the Riv. That would be the big 9 3/8 rear, and it might have the 3.42 gears. No one makes gear or Posi for that rear, so it is worth some money if it is a 3.42 posi.

I've decided not to do the brake conversion. I was trying to do it on a tight budget. The salvage yard that has the donor car has a separate area for older cars. Prices for parts from the older cars are quite high. Plus I'd need to rebuild the calipers but I could find them from only one online site. The calipers have 4 pistons per caliper. I would need 8 rebuild kits, each kit costs $55, that's $440 to rebuild the calipers. I'd still need to get the right power booster and master cylinder plus other parts. It's more than I want to spend. Plus, I've been told that the braking wouldn't been any better. So, no conversion.
I have taken the rear axle from that '68 Riviera. It is limited slip, but i can't find the gear ratio stamp. Hopefully it is 3.42 since that was the most common gear. I haven't put it on yet. Just a matter of time.

Of course the rear you have will need a fluid change & with the rear cover off, count the teeth of the ring gear & pinion & do the math.

Yes, you'll want to remove the cover anyway to replace the gear oil. Simply look at the ring gear. There will be 2 numbers stamped in the gear, divide the smaller into larger and you will have your ratio. In the picture below, 41/10 = 4.10
