I love my baby, tryna keep her going as long as possible and want to give her the best oil possible. I currently do Valvoline full synthetic High Mileage. Let me know your thoughts! Thanks all!

"High mileage" oil in the past has meant a blend of synthetic and "dino" oil. (It's not really dinosaurs you're lubricating with, it's decomposed plants. They just happened to be around when dinos roamed the Earth, probably...)

To be sure, check with the mfr and see what's in it, or with some Federal group to see if they share any insights.

There's also BITOG (Bob is the oil guy) website, so long as you don't get banned...

5w30 if you live in a colder climate
10w30 if you live in a hotter climate

Me personally, I live where it gets COLD and HOT in their respective seasons, and my driving habits equals about 1 oil change a season
So I would actually use 0w-30 in the winter and 10w-30 in the summer

The type of oil, id recommend synthetic but you will not hurt anything using conventional. Mind you, conventional doesnt flow as well in the cold.

Oil burning engines i like to keep dino syrup in and a case in the trunk. but my 3800s did not burn oil thankfully.

The Valvoline Restore and Protect is promising if you run it for multiple changes you can significantly clean the rings areas on the pistons and this can improve compression potentially but more importantly can help restore the full effect of the wiping and oil sealing of the rings to cut down on burning oil
Burning oil is a viscious loop of carbon and deposits which encourage more of it

I use Liqi-Moly in my BMW and I always wondered if that would work in my Park Avenue too. It’s great oil and they have other great products too. My mechanic always recommend it for my BMW but as far as switching my PA over to it… not sure…

I use walmart brand conventional 5w30 with a ac delco gm filter and a container of stp oil treatment. Change every 3000 miles or 3 months, whichever comes first.

I'm on 6 or 7 moto gearhead forums and.... oil threads... goes on and on and on and on. Some are arguing to this day!
So my comment quasi joke...

Ask the old curmugeon mechanic guy...
*Hey, whats the best oil?"
--- His answer.....
"Clean!"

liquid moly is german and as long as it means API SP (some SNI+ is still floating out there, too) it would be fine. I know they make 0w-30

Honestly, Use the Oil recommended by GM.
The best oil you can put in it is "Often Change".

I change my oil every 3k miles.
