Has any '95 owner (or similar year from that last design) gotten classic plates?

Just wondering. Often considered it. Based on recent inspection, I only drive mine around 1800 miles per year, so I don't think the authorities would bat an eyelash as to it being used for "daily transportation".

Of more benefit would be classic plates along with collector insurance.

with collector insurance.
Yeah, my mechanic and I were talking about all this yesterday after the car was inspected. He mentioned classic car insurance (same thing I believe as what you're referring to) as being of benefit in that it's cheaper. I should have done it years ago already. I just thought it'd be cool to at least have classic plates on it. My problem, as referenced in other threads, is that I really also want a newer car and yet hate to give up the Riv - just don't have adequate (or at least convenient) garage storage space to keep it.

Depending on what state you live in there are various options. While not a Riviera my 95 Lesabre has AV plates which are much cheaper in Illinois and in no way a classic vehicle lol, just a FYI.

As soon as my car is 25, if I still have the car, I'll be getting the historical plates here in NY. I have 4 more years.

Yeah, I'd definitely do it if I had the garage space to store the car. With wanting to get something much newer, just don't have the extra garage bay without severely inconveniencing myself. My garage mechanic got me all excited about keeping the Riviera, but now it's back to the reality of the situation. I have a standing offer of $3750 (for the past 3 years) from a local acquaintance, which isn't all that bad. Just saw one on eBay very similar to mine listed for $5700 - couldn't get any bids on it (or at least none that met the reserve).

I'd love to get the plates if I had the garage space to keep the car, but with ready to order a new SUV, I simply won't have an extra bay to keep the Riviera. I have a standing offer on it from a local guy for $3750, but wouldn't mind getting a bit more since I invested so much money in the car over the last (almost) 30 years.
